I am sorry i am blowing up twitter today but i am truely just so angry and disappointed with the North Carolina decision to ban gay marriage. Being gay is no different then being straight, and telling someone they cannot get married because they were BORN gay is the same as telling someone they cannot get married because they were born blonde or red headed instead of brunette. America is supposed to be the country with the most freedoms, but how is it that those freedoms do not apply to all of its citizens??? Not allowing same sex marriage is pretty much saying that gays and lesbians are second class citizens because they are not welcomed to all of the freedoms the US citizen are. They are forced to pay the same taxes and follow the same laws but are not allowed to share their life with the person they love….where is the freedom …or simple fairness in that???? Love is love whether ur gay, straight, lesbian, transgender, or pink with purple polka dots. U may not think about it because it does not effect u. But if someone told u u couldnt marry the person u love…think about how that would make u feel… Arent there bigger arguements to worry about then allowing someone who isnt u to live their life the way they want and love whoever they want to? I just dont understand how marriage equality for all still does not exist in the land of freedom…
